The "Washington Women's Cook Book" published in 1908 in the state of Washington combined the domestic and political aims of suffrage cookbooks. The title page reads: "Give us a vote and we will cook / The better for a wide outlook." Scattered among stirring quotes are instructions on how to build a campfire, use cucumber cream for facials, cook cabbage with mutton, and prepare Grapenuts Broth and Creamed Codfish and Potatoes.
