Michigan Today, online magazine archives, 2004-present
Michigan Today, print edition archives, 1993-2006
Why are there two Michigan Today archives?
Michigan Today has been published by the U-M News Service since 1968. It began as a four-page newspaper for faculty and staff. In 1984, it was transformed into a quarterly alumni magazine, 24 pages long and mailed to more than 400,000 U-M alumni.
In 1993, we began publishing an electronic version of the print edition. Later, in 2004, we began to complement MT with a monthly electronic newsletter, the "NewsE."
Meanwhile, the costs of printing and mailing the magazine to so many alums became too heavy to bear. Fall 2006 saw the last print edition of Michigan Today. The magazine exists now solely online (and we dropped the name "NewsE.")
Because these two publications overlapped for several years, Michigan Today has two archives. The "print" archive is an online version of print magazines from 1993-2006. The "electronic" archive contains all editions published exclusively online, from 2004 to the present.
The search feature will get you results from both archives.
