Eyes wide open
Every Wolverine has a story about meeting a fellow grad in some far-flung location, all because of the iconic Block M on a cap, a shirt, or a bag. But even here at home, one might be surprised to learn how many Block Ms are hiding in plain sight. (All images by Michigan Photography.)

Do you see what I see?
After a few years on campus, you can’t un-see the Block M ever again. Go Blue!
-
You CAN take it with you
Rain or shine, the Block M stays with you for a lifetime.
-
Do it yourself
When all else fails, grab a piece of chalk and draw your own.
-
Flyover
From high in the sky, you may see a self-driving car circling at Mcity.
-
The blues
If Block Ms don’t grow on trees, how do you explain this?
-
Edible art
We dare you to try this at your 4th of July barbecue.
-
Extreme close-up
It’s time to get small in the lab of Dutta Prabal, adjunct associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science. Yes, that’s a quarter you see.
-
We kept the lights on for you
Not really. But this lamp at the Michigan League will be a welcome sight for the returning campus community.
-
A little social distancing, perhaps
Can we help you find your seat?
-
Up Hill
As soon as you look up, there it is. A Block M sparkles amid the lights at Hill Auditorium.
-
Take it all in
That last one was so pretty, we had to show you the long view too.

Great posting on Eyes Wide Open! But can we also talk about far-flung locations sightings? Mine was in Kathmandu at the Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza, a man in a Michigan sweatshirt. He wasn’t a Michigan grad but his son was. Go Blue!

My wife and I were walking into Everest base camp and crossed a woman who was also wearing a Michigan cap and we all happily out of breath tried to scream Go Blue
