JAMES TOBIN is an author and historian. He also is a Michigan alumnus and professor of journalism at Miami University in Ohio. His latest book is Sing to the Colors: A Writer Explores Two Centuries at the University of Michigan. Tobin also has authored books on Ernie Pyle and Franklin D. Roosevelt. He contributes regularly to the U-M Heritage website, an online repository of historical stories and images about the University.
