  1. Chris Younghoon Kim

    has joined the faculty of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, as director of orchestras. He will continue his role as artistic director of Brave New Works, a group he founded with fellow Michigan alums in 1997. He will also continue as conductor of the Kalistos Chamber Orchestra. This season he will guest conduct the Firebird Ensemble with performances in Newport, RI, and Boston, in performances of Jon Deak's Passion of Scrooge. He will conduct Kristine Kuster's (another UM alum) Ando with Ensemble X in February. In May, he will conduct Kalistos Chamebr Orchestra (with yet another U-M alum–Leo Eguchi)in a New York City debut at Merkin Hall.

  2. W. Keith Sloan

    has just published "Scammed! The Frankel Victims," a true crime story, through Cork Hill Press. It is available through Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble at present, but I hope to reach more stores soon. I have been listed in the last five editions of Marques Who's Who in America and other Who's Who series.

  3. Linda K. Boose

    says that obtaining a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration at the University of Michigan Flint was "very rewarding. I had the opportunity to work in the Flint and Beecher school districts, teaching abstinence education, using the Michigan Teen Outreach Program (MTOP) Curriculum. Students were taught how to abstain from sex, alcohol, drugs and violence.

    "I currently am employed by the State of Michigan Family Independent Agency and will continue to work with youth in some capacity."

  4. Jodi S. Eligberg

    (nee) Abramson, and Rabbi David M. Eligberg are thrilled to announce the birth of their third Wolverine-in-training, Miriam Chana, on November 2, 2004. Miriam joins her big sister Sarah Aliza (April 7, 1999) and big brother Yonatan Efraim (March 15, 2001) in rooting for U-M!

  5. Daniel Young

    is raising money to travel to Portugal to have olfactory mucosa transplantation surgery performed in April 2005. Dan was paralyzed in a sledding accident in January 2004, and has spent the last 11 undergoing physical and occupational therapy.OMT surgery is a relatively new type of procedure that can help people with spinal cord injuries regain much needed function and sensation below the level of their injuries. However, most procedures of this type are not covered by traditional health insurance.

  6. Linda A. Wasserman

    has joined the Detroit-based law firm Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP as a partner in the Tax, Estate Planning and Probate department in the firm’s Oakland County office.

    Prior to joining the firm, Wasserman was a partner with Miro Weiner & Kramer PC in Bloomfield Hills. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan. Wasserman is active in the Detroit community and currently is a trustee of the Cranbrook Educational Community, a trustee of the Detroit Zoological Society, and Vice Chair of the Cranbrook Schools’ Board of Governors. She is also active with the Jewish Foundation of Metropolitan Detroit, serving on the Steering Committee of the Professional Advisory Committee and the Endowment Steering Committee.

  7. Wayne D. Hillyard

    has joined the Detroit-based law firm Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP as a partner in the Real Estate department in the firm’s Oakland County office.

    Prior to joining the firm, Hillyard was a partner with Miro Weiner & Kramer, P.C. in Bloomfield Hills. He is a member of the American Bar Association and its section on Real Property, Probate and Trust Law. He is also a member of the State Bar of Michigan and its Real Property section.

    Hillyard has been a faculty member for a number of Commercial Lease Negotiation Seminars presented by Georgetown University Law Center. He has also been a roundtable discussion leader and presenter at US Law Conference functions sponsored by the International Council of Shopping Centers

  8. Susan M. John (fka Friedland)

    has joined the Detroit-based law firm Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP as a partner in the Tax, Estate Planning and Probate department in the firm’s Oakland County office.

    Prior to joining the firm, John was a partner with Miro Weiner & Kramer PC in Bloomfield Hills. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and belongs to its Estate Planning and Probate Section.
