  1. Maile M. Hirota

    is an attorney and Director/Shareholder of Lynch Ichida Thompson Kim & Hirota in Honolulu. She concentrates her practice in immigration and nationality law and has been elected the Hawaii Chapter Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association for 2003-2005. She married Raymond Sandla, also of Honolulu, in July 2004.

  2. Gerald M. Griffith

    a partner and chair of the Health Care department at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, LLP, will participate in a panel discussion at the 11th Annual Health Law Institute taking place March 3-4, 2005, at the Michigan State University Management Education Center in Troy. Griffith’s panel discussion, “Billing the Uninsured at Charitable Institutions,” will discuss a series of class action lawsuits filed around the country, including in Michigan, that argue that the poor and uninsured are paying more for health care than the insured. The 11th Annual Institute is co-sponsored by the Institute of Continual Legal Education and the Health Care Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

    Griffith has practiced extensively in the health care area and is the author of numerous publications as well as a frequent speaker at state and national conferences. He is also a past chair of the Health Care Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and the Tax and Finance Practice Group of the American Health Lawyers Association.

  3. Donald F. Baty, Jr.

    a partner in the bankruptcy, reorganization and commercial law department of Detroit-based Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, has been named in the eleventh edition of The Best Lawyers in America 2005-2006. He was recognized as a top practitioner in creditors’ rights and commercial law. Baty resides with his family in Grosse Pointe Park.

  4. Daniel J. Demlow

    a partner and chair of the regulatory department of Detroit-based Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, has been named in the eleventh edition of The Best Lawyers in America 2005-2006. Demlow practices in the firm’s Lansing office and resides with his family in Okemos, Michigan. He was listed as a top practitioner in the area of public utility law.
